nope not religiously... no real changes to my body - this isn't a routine to get big, but I am getting stronger... data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Yep, exactly the same for me. Luckily my missus is a complete gym rat and a nutritionist so I just try to stick to what she feeds me as she understands my exercise and lifestyle.
Yes , absolutely! This was 5 months ago. Excuse the mess..

Then I started to run and did the couch to 5k app and lost about half a stone.

This was taken on 19th August. I think I've seen significant progress since then.

Ok thanks. Sounds similar to one I'm doing but it's 6 reps instead of 5, and only 4 sets. Limited to certain exercises though as I don't attended a gym so all done with equipment at home.

My biggest problem is I don't think I'm eating enough at 1800 calories a day to see any real changes hence why I am curious if other people track nutrition and how many calories they consume etc especially if doing similar exercises workouts.

This was today's workout. I think I may have a little more for slightly heavier squats next time, but the other two were maxing me out. In fact, I thought the deadlift was going to kill me....

It's more important as to how your calories are made up. 1800 in lean meat and veg is better than 1800 made up in beer and mars bars...

I agree, during the week I tend to have a good balance or meat, veg, sweet potatoes, oats, nuts etc. Weekend usually a Saturday is different. For what I am looking for though, I don't think 1800 is enough plus I lack energy sometimes even after waking up.

well, this is a strength based rep range and the stronglifts website states that you don't need as many calories as a hypertrophy based routine...that said - you certainly need enough fuel to lift heavy weights and progress with lifting heavier weights on a regular basis...

but I did a sample myfitnesspal a while back and I was on 3300 calories a day... I'm 14 stone tho - 92kg?

shodan Publish time 26-11-2019 05:04:44

3300 cal per day? Isn't that quite a lot? Mind you, I think you do quote a lot of training though don't you? It's strange but I thought you and I were about the same stamp? Now I'm thinking you are possibly write a bit taller than me..
I'm a cute little 5'8" tall and 74.4kg...

yeah, think I may have cut down slightly... but I am lean, 6'1" tho...

Starting at the bottom again for me yesterday. Got to around 70kg squat etc last winter before my knee's starting giving me grief.

5x5 @ 30kg squat
5x5 @ 30kg bench
5x5 @ 30kg BOR

Probably should skip the 20 min run on the treadmill before I did the 5 x 5's!!! lol

Going to hit this hard over the winter time, still decent weather so I tend to head for my road bike instead of the gym just now.
