No, the dark is the lower spec one, no steering damper and matt fairings, amongst other things. Mine is the gloss black which was only sold from 06-07 really.
There is an 848 dark, doesn't look that great imo.

The best commuter. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Its so narrow i can fit through gaps scooters have trouble with. I actually went from an S4r to this, as the Monster's bars were far too wide for the London traffic. Plus constantly cleaning the naked bike.
Also the noise hopefully means people know i'm around them.

Bought this last weekend, not picking up for a month though as it needs a service and I'm going on hols for 2 weeks. shame the season is drawing to an end but hopefully get plenty of time to ride it.
It's a 2011 796 fitted with the Corse body art kit, well chuffed with the price and can't wait to get itdata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Booked my first ever trackday the other day, only an evening session for now but I'm a little bit nervous, any tips from anyone? Its at Cadwell Park and I'll be doing it on my b1h ninja.

I used to instruct at trackdays, you'll undoubtedly be given a briefing beforehand telling you about flags etc.data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Apart from that, we just used to tell people to RELAX and take your time building your speed up.
Far too many think they have to prove their fast straight away.data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Relax on the bike too.
A good exercise to make sure you're not too tense is to shrug your shoulders multiple times and flap your arms (kinda like you're doing the birdie dance).
We used to get everyone to do that in the holding bay.data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
It used to make everyone feel a bit daft and made everyone laugh, but the movement helps you physically relax and the laughter relaxed everyone too.
Above all else, enjoy it.
You've nothing to prove to anyone.
The only annoying people at trackdays are the ones who crash and hold everything up for everyone else.
Nice bike, BTW, they're my favourite ZX6 (I've had a few variants)

Thanks for the info FZR, was hoping you'd reply as I believe you've also done some racing in your time :]
One issue I am worried about is groups. I'm booked with no limits and its a novice/inters mixed group, worried I'm going to hold everyone up or do something stupid in front of someone much faster than me.
The chicken dance is a good tip, use that on the road all the time to stop me tensing up. Don't worry I wouldn't be going too fast as I've got to ride it home to so crashing is a big no! Getting quite excited now but nervous too.
Just hope the trackday bug doesn't bite as I really can't afford another bike haha!
I love my b1h, suits me perfect and don't think I'd need anything bigger or faster on the road tbh. Handles like its on rails too, only issue is the rear shock is rock solid, a common issue so I've read
