I think it's more the games, I've seen 1 games that I thought looked impressive and that was Project Cars.

I think I was hoping for something more like COD or GTA.

GTA is meant to be good in VR in short bursts but it is hard on your VR legs(i have not tried it myself however)
but COD........... hmmm, my experience of VR so far is that fast paced FPSers where you are on foot are about the worst kind of games for VR.

maybe if you had an omni treadmill, or a massive (and i mean massive) VR space decked out so you could run around then FPS games in VR could be cool but imo most people struggle in them.

I played half life 2 a fair amount in VR (currently half way through the game).Half Life 2 is far slower paced than COD however personally I found even with my VR legs fully acclimatised i could only play for 40 mins MAX otherwise i would feel very ill.

just my experience of it however and everyone is different.

but looking at a screen of a game in VR does not prepare you for what is impressive in VR.

Take euro truck sim 2...... there is a title which may bore many to tears, and yet in VR it is incredible.....

but the one for me is Elite dangerous.i cant describe how cool it is to fly INSIDE those ships, and it is the only way to appreciate the scale....... in VR you quickly realise how big everything is.

Once you try VR there is no going back (IMHO).

I'm going to wait it out for a bit. Will pick up the PSVR as I can get a nice discount on it if I was to pick any of them up.

Yeah, think I'll wait until closer to Xmas when they're all out and see what the feedback's like.

Least they seemed to have got the fitting right.

A Very Small Feature Is A Huge Win For Playstation VR

oh god forbes again   honestly do not trust anything they say about VR, most i have read on that site has been awful

not to mention i cant view it at work....... am i guessing right in that they are talking about comfort? (i cant see the link) however if it is, i half agree.... I have been championing that design since 1st seeing it, really good idea, however there is a rather large downside... there is a lot of light pollution which leaks in all around the head set.

cant have it all i guess.

if i am wrong and it is nothing to do with the head mounting system then my apologies.

In fairness most of the articles posted are from places i've never heard of so rarely trust any of them.

Indeed, I think they all have their own agenda to a point.

I've a lot of respect for the opinion pieces from Ars Technica and Rock, Paper, Shotgun. Ars are a proper news outlet and RPS appear to be the closest to a real human, so its a good mix. PC Gamer have been very insightful on the subject of VR. I posted a little while back what read like a good Gizmag article but don't usually have much time for them.
