I had a 2nd hand GTX970 and just bought a new, but 2nd owned, GTX 980Ti because I only lost £20 on what I paid for the 970 and got the GTX980Ti for only £420 (rather than £550) so only cost me an extra £220, otherwise I'd have stuck with the 970 seeing as oculus say that is sufficient. If I'd not got the upgrade so cheap I'd have waited for Pascal cards to be released. With a water cooled i5-4690K OC'ed to 4.7Ghz I have plenty of CPU power if needed, plus my GTX980Ti can OC to high levels too if needed (all in a cool/quiet ITX case).

Its a good thing though and refreshingly honest after all the "movie experience" like BS we have been getting. I guess it is just expectation management before the bigger reveal.
I don't think Sony need worry.
The PS4 will at least give them a ready made captive audience.They will likely beat the others with numbers sold.
Either way VR will be a very small niche market a la virtual boy.

Sony vr coming in october so 6 month delay. Decent price at £350 tho not sure if you need to buy camera and move controllers on top.
Sony already tying up vr exclusives however which should come as no surprise but sucks balls. And its not just sony entertainment totles either. Star wars battlefront is Sony vr exclusive
You need to buy the camera too. Not the move controllers.
