As we're now delving into simple cooked meals, my favourite is this:

A large chicken breast, stuffed with feta   sun dried tomatoes, wrapped in foil and put in the oven for 30 minutes. 2 Minutes before it's ready slice some chorizo and garlic and shallow fry it in olive oil.

Put a handful of pre-prepared leafy salad (bought in the bag!) on a plate, put the chicken breast on then pop the chorizo and garlic on top, drizzling a little of the oil over the salad.

2 minutes prep time, 30 mins cook time and it tastes so so good. I eat this for dinner at least twice per week!

Again, can we define simple please. None of yours are, I think.

Simple to me is having somthing ready in less than 30 seconds. Anything that involves prep and cooking is NOT simple.

Rob, whilst the above sounds delicious it transcends the boundaries of 'simple food' due to the preparation and time involved, it is more a recipe than a quick fix, but I will reiterate sounds really tasty.

Leftovers - straight from the fridge, the colder the better, no need for a fork half the time: Chinese (especially cold ribs and cold noodles), Indian, Roast Dinner (cold meat, cold roast pots, cold mashed swede, cold cauliflower cheese), cold veg, cold sausages, cold burgers, cold pasta. cold garlic bread, cold pork chops, cold chicken, cold new potatoes.

There's no time to heat stuff up, and if I do choose to I'll be eating something else cold whilst it is. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I always take more than 30 seconds to decide what I want, usually a few mins, then I always end up having the same thing a usual! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Just had a jacket potato with cheese and beans for lunch from the canteen and now I'm happy. Not quick to cook yourself but its not exactly complicated
