Cant beat a proper baked spud.

1. Get a good sized spud
2. Using a fork, prick a series of holes around the edges
3. Cut an X into the top.
4. Wrap in kitchen roll and leave, X side down for 30 minutes.
5. Unwrap, coat in olive oil and place in a good baking tray, X side up.
6. Grind sea salt all over the top.
7. Place in a cold oven.
8. Set to 175 degrees and leave for 2 hours.
9. Eat with butter and really strong chedder.

Never thought of that... will give it a go!

Toaster bag wasn't the best result... the bread was too big for the toaster so I had half the sandwich toasted, the other half cold... data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

The jacket in the canteen at work are always good. Quite like a jacket spud with Tuna and Cheese.

George foreman toasties are amazing, they don't seal the edge like the normal makers do and you get a nicely toasted sandwich at the end

Dualit toasters have an optional toasted sandwich cage that creates a great toastie. Again it doesn't crush the bread.

probably not simple food, but a proper cooked breakfast is always welcome. 2 sausages, 2 crispy bacon, 2 poached eggs, fried onions and mushrooms with 3 hash browns. and some ketchup for the bacon and eggs with brown sauce for the sausages data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 heaven

Any decent pasta. Add some bacon, and maybe decent cheese grated on the top. Chilli spiced olive oil as a side. Bread to mop up the sauce.
