I watched that documentary when it was first aired way back... I'd already started fasting then but it gave me the spur to continue.

NHS advice for Type 2diabetics is to eat breakfast and don't eat the evening meal too late, so they'd have a fit at the fasting regime. As mossym? suggested they are of the belief that if you go to bed with food in your system it's bad for you.Go figure data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

The health services are woefully out of date in many aspects ...They're still advising people to eat low fat products for example ... when the main danger currently is SUGAR ( and not Alan before someone says it ) .
Some aspects of Science have been turned upside down after recent studies have shown remarkable benefits from fasting ..I'll try and find the name of the scientist who's all but cured himself and other Type 2 diabetes sufferers by fasting .

I've noticed that once I started to control what I was eating I then started to eat less and would find that if I had forgotten something I usually ate on lunch break, I was not that bothered and could easily wait till the evening meal.
I did have a few days off and had a few treats too many and my brain was telling me for days afterwards to eat more crap, almost as if I had been hypnotised by the chemicals and had to have more.
The diet I chose has worked well for me and has seen almost 3 stone lost and have started to take note of the starvation diet, which I think may work well for me.

Same for me .
I can't have any bread / chocolate / pies in the house as I just can't trust myself- even knowing what eating it does to me
