From the above it seems to me that “Standard Broadband “ should be showing 14-22 Mbps, which it is just about.
It is showing FTTP as available, not sure what constitutes “available” and where “1 Stage” has it to.

If that's the case then the FTTrN info you quoted would not apply to you possibly?
That sounds like it is for people that have no fibre cabinet in the area. For my BT Infinity the fibre cabinet is not anywhere near me. As the crow flies it's about 0.11 miles away.

My current plan is Superfast BB 2. From browsing plans it seems the standard offering is Superfast BB. A monthly difference of about £6. From memory I signed up to Infinity or Infinity 2 and the performance then was with acceptable parameters.

Infinity is VDSL so the best you will get is 22.5mb, 7.8mb at worst.

No, it is NOT within "acceptable parameters" for Infinty2/Superfast Fibre 2/Superfast Fibre Plus plans; these are "up to 80mbit" packages, but should only be sold to residential customers who can achieve in excess of 38mbit.
If you have been regraded onto a Superfast Fibre / Fibre Essential (no "2" in the plan name), then - and only then - is a downstream connection of 11-13mbit acceptable.
For clarity, please don't use the words "broadband" in conjunction with fibre - BT's ADSL (ie the non-fibre product) is called Broadband. There is no "Superfast BB 2" product data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7However there used to be ADSL and ADSL2 based products (upto 8mbit and upto 24mbit respectively), and many adsl2 products were once termed "superfast broadband" until fibre came along.
BT's constant renaming/re-positioning of their fibre products doesn't help, especially as BT Infinity was initially renamed as Superfast Fibre, and the bandwidth figures have varied downwards from the initial 80/40mbit downstream rates to 78/76/38/36mbit. BT now only state an average downstream connection, and not the maximum potential downstream bandwidth...
1. BT Infinity (up to 40mbit) is nowBT Superfast Fibre Essential (up to 36mbit)
2. BT Infinity 2 (up to 80mbit) is now BT Superfast Fibre 2 (up to 78mbit)
3. Sat in-between is BT Superfast Fibre, and only makes reference of an average 50mbit downstream speed. No idea if it is rate-limited.
4. Standard Broadband - average 10mbit.
Can you access the BT router and see what the downstream connection is - NOT a speedtest conducted from a device, but the actual line rate the router is connected at.
My advice would be to clarify exactly what service you are on, exactly what line rate your router is connecting at, before doing anything else.
Why? Because you might have an issue along that 300m of line connecting you to the dslam.

My neighbour had a speed of 23Mbps this morning. His house is 250m closer to the road. I thought that would explain the difference.
I found the neighbourhood cabinet, approx 0.8 mile from my front door.
I also spotted this on my pole, it seems to be downstream from that earlier picture of a fibre junction box. This smaller box has no connections out of it. My pole serves me plus one other neighbour. https://www.avforums.com/attachments/img_7761-jpg.1055666/

IF you signed up for Infinity 2 you should have greater speeds, 300m is not short but not far also, my Infinity 2 speed drops from 80 to 60 after my 250m.
If you have 40/10 then your speeeds look just about right and your only problem is upgrading to 2.
