Floored. Got onto BT to order FTTP now that my amended tariff for FTTC is processed to be told FTTP is available but not available to order. They referred me back to Openreach which I don’t think is right but let’s see what happens.

The confirmation email came in. The description of the Service flummoxed me as I thought Superfast was FTTC. So I contacted them by chat. Wait and see I suppose.

Due for final install on 28 Sept. Still waiting for someone from Openreach to appear and say "this is a bigger job than we thought Boss".

ISPReview are reporting today that openreach have changed their process and now do more of the preparation beforehand so the date is less likely to change after they see what's involved:

I expected a knock on the door a couple of days ago and perhaps some sort of discussion as to how the service would be brought to the house. Perhaps someone has been out and reported back negatively. I would be very surprised if they roll up unannounced on Monday with telegraph poles and a drum of cable.

Final instal date has come and nearly gone and surprise surprise no show. On a positive note it appears the instal may happen next week. On a negative note my broadband is now dead. BT say it has not been cut off and suggest my HH5 is faulty and are sending out a new smart hub. I don’t really believe the fault is a coincidence. Frustratingly I have a brand new Smart Hub sitting here waiting for the fibre but apparently I can’t use it for my non operating FTTC Service.

It couldn't be worse timing either, right before the weekend.
Hopefully it gets sorted out next week and doesn't drag on.
