I spoke to support today about the activity not working when trying outdoor cycling. Can anyone try it to see if it records speed/distance. Just take your phone and have a walk around the garden.
Mine just has lines instead of speed/distance so isn't even trying to record GPS info. https://www.avforums.com/attachments/imageuploadedbyavforums1431364068-572650-jpg.585616/

Ok thanks. I've sent the log off to Apple. What phone are you using?

Same as me. Support said someone else had the same problem. I might try a reset on the watch.

Yeah I would. Power down both devices. Repair Bluetooth etc.
Have you checked all your settings on your iPhone too? For example motion tracking in location services-system services.

It track fine with outdoor walk/run but when you start the outdoor cycle the distance reads 0ft then immediately goes to the lines in the pic above so looks like a bug rather than something serious.
I've reset and having same issue.

By 'reset' do you mean, unpair and restore from backup?

No. Just normal reset.

I had problems with the 'stand' functions, so followed the instructions here.
How to unpair and reset Apple Watch to factory settings | iMore
When you pair the iPhone and the Watch again you can opt to restore the backup that is made during the unpair process.
