Tried that and still the same problem. Works fine with outdoor walk/run but not outdoor cycle.

Fair few annoying things I've picked up on, being a Pebble owner. The notifications are really hit and miss, sometimes they come through, other times nothing. I hear my iPhone in the other room ping for a new SMS. Wait for it to appear on my watch but nothing. Go to the phone and there it is. Flick down on watch and there it is but it didn't pop up, make the sound or buzz me. The stand feature just told me to stand so I did, for 6 minutes, but it never came up saying done and is staying on 10/12 that it was on before I stood up.
Might try to reset and re-pair as too hit and miss so far. Checked i don't have DND on and all notifications set for 'Mirror iPhone'. Do they only come up if phone / Mac is locked (i.e. if one of those two hasn't picked it up first)?
On Pebble still came up regardless.

Yup. If iPhone isn't locked it will come up on that instead of the watch.

Notifications only appear if you are not seeing them in another location. If the phone is unlocked or the SMS appears on your laptop, the watch won't notify you. If the phone and watch aren't connected via Bluetooth or the same 2.4ghz wireless network, messages won't come through. Make sure you haven't muted sounds and the taptic notifications. Maybe try turning the sound up and and on on the watch or turning on the prominent haptic notification, just to make sure you aren't missing the tap.
For standing, you have to move around. You can't just stand. You have to walk about for at least 1 minute.

If you have wrist detection on it will go to the watch by default but only if the phone is not being used/ locked. If you're using the phone or the phone is unlocked it will show on the phone first.
If you have wrist detection off I believe it shoots through to them both at the same time.
For the stand feature, you also have to move about for 1 minute as well. It won't just pick up on you standing.
If you are moving about, then yes, I would do as Stiggy suggested above.
EDIT: sorry, we all posted about the same time!

My Mac is always on upstairs with no screensaver on so I guess that the emails and messages are coming through on that first so not coning to my watch. With the Pebble it came through on all. Be Ok when out and about but not so helpful if in the house and away from the Mac.
Answered a call on it earlier which was cool and I do like the activity app but so far I'm not 100% on keeping it and may opt for the new colour pebble when that comes out. Only v1 though so would presume software updates and more apps will help. Missing Facebook and Spotify apps and Pebble can even control my Nest thermostat which Apple Watch cannot yet.

I believe with wrist detection off it allows all notifications to come through regardless of other devices... can someone double check that for me as I'm without watch at the moment! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Siri also not great, just seems to show the moving line at the bottom then bigger delay than on iPhone before text appears, if it appears at all. Does feel very 1.0
