I actually think that looks ok, I might buy one for when I am out on the bike... handy to have especially if you like doing sports

I'm going to go with this one now, I don't want a lot of bulk but after seeing how easy it scratches...

Apple Watch Case Thin Fit (42mm) - Apple Watch - Smart Watches - Store| SPIGEN SGP

Now....will the steel scratch when I'm trying to force the case cover over the watch.. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I'm thinking of also purchasing the Applecare to be honest, it gives me the opportunity to send in the one that *COUGH* doesn't work and replaced be a new case watch

I can see a 'What case are you going for?' thread being started soon......data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

The heavy duty one has a built in screen protector. Only just spotted that. Two birds one stone.

Not sure it will data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Aluminium is usually bead blasted to give it a lovely matte lustre. It can however scratch 'shiny' silver if scuffed and be difficult to get it back to it's original finish, as it's a very soft metal.

Stainless steel on the other hand can be highly polished or brushed. I prefer brushed as it's much easier to repair, although mirror polished can be restored with a little patience.
At end of the day it's a watch and will naturally get some 'dings' eventually and just like your car, the first mark in the paint is always the worst. After a few more, here and there it becomes less of an issue.
I already mentioned on another post that I'm holding out for a titanium case or come to think of it, perhaps a ceramic version.

Don't get me wrong, these things aren't cheap, but as watches go, they're a bargain and wide open to all the cosmetic problems that Rolex, Omega, etc wearers have suffered for ever, even when they spend considerably more than most Apple watch owners ever will. (Edition owners excepted)

Long time watch wearer/technology user btw.

Yeah that one looks a good buy, I'm sold and have ordered. When I start getting back on the mountain bike I'd like a little protection just in case, this seems perfect

OK just as an update. I couldn't send SMS but iMessage was OK. Apple couldn't fix and have sent on to the engineers waiting for a call back.

@Stiggy suggested switching iMessages off and on the iPhone and that seems to have sorted it. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7.
