Sensory feedback systems and methods for guiding users in virtual reality environments

The 3d sensor to automatically detect hard bounds is interesting. Though not inside out tracking, perhaps it can still scan the environment and give you some representation of physical objects via the chaperone system.

I struggled to believe a refresh of 120Hz. Even if the display component is capable, 90Hz seems good enough and we need more res to burden our GPUs, not refresh.

Those front facing cameras are to out of position to be a video pass through. Think I've convinced myself the chaperone is gonna be a 3d scan of the room rather than a weird tron camera feed.

Here's an archive of the website that appeared very briefly...

Valve Index Headset on Steam

The shading on the front of that pic is very weird. Its not shadow but it doesn't seem to be revealing anything. The slot on the font, which looks like it might host a MagicLeap, looks ugly!

Will be disappointing if it is GTX 970 / AMD 480 / DisplayPort 1.2. Thats not gonna support 2k an eye.

UploadVR have been quick to report on it...

@thesnowdog there is a lot of plastic, whereas Oculus do like their fabric. If the plastic is of similar quality to the Steam controller it may feel quite cheap in the hand.

Knuckles look stunning though! So it may yet look sharp.
