Unless it looks like the day you bought it, reject it. The Mazda dealership will have out sourced it to a local body shop.

And a with a fat margin off the insurance estimate. You have strong grounds for future loss. You're going to take a hiding at trade in time a few years down the line. You'll need a few grand to cover that.

Well, I rang the insurance company and informed them I have rejected the repairs due to the poor workmanship. They aren't happy, especially considering the length of time it has taken and the cost of the repair. I pointed out that my wife and I have wasted a half day holiday each because they assured us it was ready to collect. That is a half day holiday we are now unable to take off with the kids at Christmas. Because they tried to fob us off with a sub-standard repair.

A Vizion Network investigator has been assigned and we have been assured this is "totally unacceptable".

I have also contacted Mazda UK to see if they do independent inspections of post-crash repairs. I explained the above to them and said I'd expected more from an authorised Mazda dealership. Mazda UK are not happy.

Sounds like a nightmare!

Not sure all dealerships are bad at repairs although my neighbour had a near write off and lost his car to Mazda for repair for 12 weeks, in which time he rejected the car 6 times!

One thing is for sure, I am not signing anything until I am 100 percent happy. Even then I'm getting the RAC out to inspect it.

My main worry was the paint job (soul red, nightmare) but they have nailed it, the paint job looks amazing.

I forgot to say, when I went to pick it up the guy said that there was nothing about a new bumper on the work schedule (yes, that is it I quoted above).

Sounds like they'll have to repaint it again then if you still need a bumper and the arch sorting out
