Last game that really impressed you

Metal Gear Solid V.  I think this game has shown many other game makers just what attention to detail really is.  When you dig into the game you can clearly see evidence of how much thought went into this and the result is a great gaming experience.

Some other games are a bit too superficial and that spoils it for me.  PS4 games are not cheap after all.

The Last of Us Remastered was impressive also on PS4.

On the PC, I play Age of Conan, an MMO that has the best melee combat system going.  It's an 8 year old game but still looks and plays better than the eye candy, dumbed down one click combat garbage that passes for games today.

Destiny, I was quite into that for a while after it came out but I despise the way you form groups in that game as well as the PS4's headphone/mic system needed for group play.  I'm used to push to talk on the PC in Teamspeak and this voice activated nonsense on the PS4 is rotten.  You sit there listening to numpties crunching on crisps, people farting, families arguing and dogs snoring.

Games from the past?  Halo on Xbox, Half Life series, Left4Dead and Left4Dead 2, Battlefield 2, Mario Kart for the lols.

Border Down on my Jap Dreamcast via VGA, that game just popped visually and was utterly brilliant to play, sadly sold up last year as the wife was kicking off about the amount of old gaming stuff littering the lounge.

Another vote for the Last Of Us from me,didnt get round to playing it til i got it on PS4 but wow!!

Resident Evil 2 and Metal Gear 5 need a mention too!

Also Metroid Prime for the wii,really need to get round to playing the other 2 also.

Lol,i dont think its better than Metal Gear Solid,that would take some beating,i just loved the way it was the classic stealth gameplay set in an open world. It did have a kind of unfinished feel to it but i still find myself going back to it now.

To be honest that was only a few on the top of my head,ive been gaming since the spectrum 2 and i can think of loads more game that made me think, "wow".
