Can't say I have but it was bought over by Heinz a few years ago. On a side note while I don't go along with the 'it's gotta be Heinz' for tomato ketchup - it's definitely got to be HP for brown which has a quality like no other.

Bacon and egg sandwich. Tomato sauce of course. Deeeeelicious.

I usually prefer the better bacon, but Asda do a pack of bacon at 99p. We expected it to be crap, but it's one of the nicest tasting bacon we've had and not that much water coming out either.

You can't beat farmer's market bacon, but it costs a fortune.

One thing I will say is that along with apple skin it's the worst thing around for getting stuck between your gnashers and a toothpick won't do - I usually have to floss to get the worst bits out. Though that might say more about the state of my teeth than anything else.

Making a stand alone bacon sarnie I prefer to grill it as I can control how crispy it comes out. Much cleaner and minimal clean-up afterwards compared to the pan.

One of the worst feelings known to man - bacon cooked to perfection, crusty white roll at the ready - look in the larder/fridge for the HP........arrrrggghhhh none left!!!

I'm pretty certain that if we as a race had to actually manually slaughter and process the meat we ate we'd see a huge upsurge in vegetarianism. That said even in those dark lentil eating days I have no doubt that a bacon sarnie would be the prime reason why folks "broke ranks" to indulge themselves in its epic taste.

Was always red sauce growing up in London, or if you were posh it was tomato sauce
Ketchup was a word Americans used.

Round my way it was always "the sauce" as everyone knew what it meant as delegations such as "the hot sauce" or "HP" were self evident.

The ketchup wave missed me too along with the other strange Americanisms that appear to have floated over here. Hearing shop assistants pipe out an insincere "Have a nice day!" in a brummie accent is quite weird.
