There are lot of people in Britain with that kind of attitude. Some deny it is envy. Could be a large chip. I don't know.. But the views expressed her are not uncommon and it holds the country back.

Funny how everything you propose is about getting your hands on a nice bit of gear and not about something that could unite or lift the whole country's moral and standing in the world and esteem in international investment community...  That is so interesting...

Just imagine the queen on a barge with some balloons for the jubilee celebration could be really made special with your parade of knighted JSA recipients and their PS3 consoles...  That would be a historic event....

That would surely fill the world with confidence about investing in England and stave off that looming credit downgrade... There is no way we'd end up like Greece now...

I'm truly shocked...

And I dislike the royals... But I can see the merit of at least discussing a national symbol, a drive to unite each other in a positive endeavor, create some jobs and maybe even jump start an industry... But it's all about the hate... And me me me... I want my PS3... The government should buy me a kindle and entertain me...  Yet 100's of billions on a train to nowhere is ok?

So following the logic of "the haters" and their jelousy, then are people calling for Public sector pensions etc, haters?

Surely they are following the same politics of envy, under that logic.

I see the reasons behind PS reforms and by the same principle, I have reasoned (IMO), that a new Royal yacht is not only a huge mis use of public funds, but is totally inappropriate at this time.
