Seriously? I wonder how someone can get "upset" when a democratically elected representative refuses to 'bow' in an act of subservience to someone we are supposed to believe is fit to be head of state by birthright...you know just like that other great leader kim Jong un of North Korea. Some people really don't understand the concept of democracy. Google it mate,go on educate yourself.

Even worse if you are a Welsh republican!

Expected to bow to a family that have oppressed your nation for 800 years?

Have the feeling of wanting to watch Braveheart now!!

ROFLMAO This is getting funnier and funnier. At least you guys admit that you are selective to who you provide courtesy based on your own preconceptions.

@springtide my family left south of Wales in 1647 according to our records and moved to Germany. We were called Powell in those days which changed to van Povel over the years.

We were there dude...how about yours?

Bow only in China Vietnam Taiwan..
The title thing also in the honorary the Sir/Lady etc, is so antiquated it's cringing.  Just imagine as an example, Sir la gran siege of AV forum or Enki Earl Marshal of Politics & Economy, if anyone addresses me by their full honary title I would set about laughing with a handshake and reply, oh right that's nice for you and then disengage very quickly to save them further embarrassment.

Yup I can't see it either, I must admit you guys are doing a great job making my points for me. Your selective approach is truly aligned with and confirming exactly what I thought.

The act of bowing is not subservience, but courtesy, a greeting, a personal show of respect between two people, who may represent nation states, a diplomatic process, between people, it represents a civility, politeness.

I've zero respect for most awarded honours titles/peerages, especially the party political, business bollocks (Green, Goodwin, et al) or sports celebrity ones
- a 30-40 something lord/baroness who couldn't win a parliamentary seat, a 20-40 something sportsperson with hardly that many years of hard graft and giving back, or tax evading pension plundering asset stripping areseholes, are just bog standard Mr/Miss ... to me
