The interview that Guido shared shows that she’s standing by the premise she was elected by.  Farage saying that ‘people’ (or, “him”) wouldn’t be happy with a 52:48 referendum in favour of Remain, and he’d carry on campaigns to leave, isn’t really that much different.  He wouldn’t accept the vote, and neither would Swinson.

As I said before , Brexit ain't going away wether we leave or stay in as neither side will respect or accept the outcome . It will consume the political landscape for years to come .

He would accept the vote. He wouldn't demand that we leave regardless of the result.

Swinson would be free to campaign for a future rejoin referendum. But to not accept the result of a vote she wants to hold unless it goes her way is indefensible. Yet here you are defending it.

Why can't you just call her out for an absurd and anti democratic stance?

Why would we hold a second referendum if people are already saying they won't abide by it?

You must have missed the post where I said I didn’t agree with her?

Again, I’m only going by the video shared and she said that she wouldn’t vote in Parliament to leave (democratic right?) and she wouldn’t change her personal view to support leaving.  I’m not sure that’s quite as dramatic as saying that she’s anti-democratic, even if Guido decides it is?

Farage has spent 20 years going against the last democratic referendum regarding EU membership in the UK, that’s his democratic right too.

But would then be ignoring the results of two UK democratic votes.

Oh for god's sake.

That good old tactic of yours.

"I'm not defending her", then goes on to defend her.

I’m not defending her, I’m actually listening to what she said instead of going off on yet another Guido-led “anti-democratic” direction.

Did you listen to the bit where she wants a second vote but won't abide by it if it doesn't go her way?

Do you condemn her for that? Do you agree it is anti democratic?

How would you feel if Boris agreed to a second referendum, remain won but then he took us out anyway?

Would you be all "I'm not defending him but..." then?

"I don’t agree with the comment from Jo Swinson" but, politicians always lie anyway, and she's campaigning and hasn't put a date on when she would ignore a 2nd referendum (/sarcasm)

Again, as per my previous post, listening to what she says, she's standing by the pledges her party elected her to the leadership under.  I don't agree with her comment, but it's not undemocratic to stand by your own voting decision and to not 'support' the result.

Funnily enough, I’m pretty sure she didn’t but let’s not misrepresent what I said eh
