I can see some great things from Jo, on July the 1st she didn't rule out a coalition with either labour or the conservatives.
This must be up there with one of the best quotes of all time!
The Lib Dem deputy leader, who is running against Sir Ed Davey to succeed Sir Vince Cable in the party’s top job, said there is no immediate prospect of becoming allied with either the Tories and Labour currently as both are “led by Brexiters”.
In a interview with The Herald newspaper, she said: “I have not said never in any future scenario, where things are different.
By my calculations Ed Davey wins by 57,667 votes to 47,900, since under Remoanonomics we have to add all the non voters to whoever came second. Bad luck Jo!
Not to mention the 40 million or so 'ordinary' voters who had no say!
Swinson's acceptance speech bingo card:
Stop Brexit
Progressive
Strong Liberal voice
D1versity
More women in politics
Equality
Stop Brexit
I hate Boris Johnson
I think she will do a great job at being very very liberal, very liberal indeed, right up to when they garner enough support that they form a coalition with Labour to remain in the EU and sink back into the shadows . As many will remember they formed the dirty coalition with then nasty conservatives.
I've voted Lib Dem for a fair few elections, but I'm not keen on Jo. She seems nice enough, but we don't need nice right now, we need a real leader, with real ideas, and honestly, I've not seeing it. She seems a bit of a charisma vacuum. I don't think she's the right person for the party or country right now.
Yeah Johnson just wants to be PM. It's his dream job. Calling an election when he doesn't have to - especially given the current climate - could result in his one shot ending somewhat prematurely. I don't think he'll risk it.
Although he could face votes of no confidence I guess.
Difficult to see where he goes, but you are right. Lib Dems may hold the keys to the castle.
