Maybe this thread was better left un-revived.
There's a perfectly good, constructive thread on this game that has been running along nicely in the month and a bit that this thread was laid dormant.

Haha you are right. Unless Valve release another game in the next 4 weeks which isn’t very likely Snowdog would off had Alyx free.

A bet I didn’t lose. Snowdog now has to pay Valve, the company he criticised for the last 3years.
People wanted Valve to release a game, that game has now been announced.
Of all the game franchises Valve could of brought to VR Valve chose their biggest.
People wanted a full length game not a demo, Valve have stated this game as 15hours long.
I can’t understand how people can still say Valve have been sitting on their collective backsides despite announcing a game that’s taken 50 people 3years to create.
I just don’t get that mentality.

You make me laugh so much!
I personally fall on the side of respecting Valve re: Alyx. They could have easily of made a 2D verison of the game but they haven't. They've betted one of their most prised IPs on VR and I like it. They need more of a roadmap than three titles IMO but for now, its fine. A
But still, you were wrong and its so hillarious.

I don't have a problem giving Valve money now that they've finally made an effort. Effort should ALWAYS be rewarded. This is why I've bought the vast majority of my VR games from the Oculus Store.
I'm still pissed off about them not bringing Half Life 2 VR to both headsets on day one of them launching though.

But they’ve been making the effort for over 3 year since in secret. You’ve been unduly criticising them for over 3 years calling them lazy ******* over and over when all this time they were making your dream game. Oh dear.
Who knows what else is coming besides HL:A

If it they were doing it in secret, how do you know about it?
Do you have a source that backs up your claim that they've been developing it for over 3 years in secret?

There have been loads of claims in excess of four years and claims of a third of Valve's staff have been working on it.
Here's one example: https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1197590031453474816
Given the apparent quality of the trailer and the supposed length of the game, at least 50 people for at least 3 years is a pretty safe bet. Don't think we need to see Valve employee wage slips for the last 5 years to be confident about that.
