Anyone else find the WL863's 3D quality horrible? Looks like crap (3d blurays, games).

I find the sky SBS rubbish. Not tried blu ray yet.

Seen the Legend ...Owls and last Harry Potter with my daughters. A couple of instances of crosstalk, otherwise impressive. Maybe I am not to picky regarding 3D.

Lol yeah, i don't know if 3D works for everyone. Personally i think a Nintendo 3DS looks like crap aswell. I've seen some good reviews of the WL863 concerning 3D-bluray, except for side-by-side 3D. Ofcourse i'm using The toshiba AG02 3D-glasses. The movies i tried:
World cup 2010, some Imax film about oceans and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

When I first tried mine I thought the same thing. It looked absolutely terrible. I changed the picture to standard and this improved things dramatically. Avatar looked as good as I've ever seen it on 3D Blu-ray. SBS was a mixed bag.I think the set struggles with depth on lower contrast settings. The 3D brightness is superb with the new Toshiba glasses too. The standard setting is a bit too punchy for my liking so will need to play around a bit more.

I notice there is a test card on this set, how could I use that to optimise my display settings?? I have a poor eye!!

OK, I've been through the auto-calibration with the TPA-1 optimisation tool and I'm glad to see significant improvements. //static.avforums.com/styles/avf/smilies/clap.gif
Everything looks much more natural.I always thought my picture looked a but blue-ish before calibration. After calibration the blue tint has gone and colours appear to be excellent to my eye.Skin tones look supberb.I was able to confirm this blue tint issue because after calibration I simply pressed reset whilst watching television in the background and the blue tint came instantly flying back.It appeared to look worse but this is most likely because of the instant jump.
All in all, I couldn't ask for anything more in terms of 2D.3D is another story.
If SBS 3D material is going to be your thing then I honestly wouldn't recommend this set.It is simply awful in or mode. The image needs to be much brighter in order for the set to determine depth. When changing to or 3D SBS content improves a lot, but crosstalk is still visible on most shots.
3D Blu-ray is thankfully much, much better.Only on some scenes is crosstalk visible but the same applies here.DO NOT use or mode.
The 3D SBS content I viewed was on my Virgin VOn Demand and was recorded at 720p.I would expect 1080p SBS content to look signigicantly better however, I was unable to get any of the demos I had to work due to a combination of the dumbness between my Nvidia based graphics card and the Toshiba 3D selector.
When I played the 3D content (Panasonic Demo) the TV would detect a 3D signal however, it only plays back on two separate images.Does anyone who uses a PC for SBS material know of a way around this?
All in all, I am very please with the calibration results; and it took around 10 minutes!

My 3d seems to my untrained eye very good, this is on sky. Although there may be issues there I haven't found them and dont wish too!
I was watching the Boxing last night and Was very impressed

My thoughts on Sky SBS are the same as vipergrm, its absolutely rubbish. I'd go so far as to say its unwatchable.
But the robodan says his is finedata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
I'm thinking my glasses are faulty.
