What is SBS exactly? And i don't know if it was here but i know for sure someone said the Toshiba is better than the Samsung D8000 LCD, was it here? Either way....do the 55WL865 owners agree with that?

SBS.   Side by side 3D, it's broadcast by Sky, and it's crosstalk city on these tellys.

Oooh ok, in that case i need not worry cause i really don't care about 3D, especially because i just don't really see it. Hope an update is on its way for you guys though.

Which panel do you have? To determine see: http://www.avforums.com/forums/16607481-post79.html
It was more or less established that the red under-saturation is the fault of the AUO panel.

Could you prove your claim as in is it possible to make a CIE Chart with the TPA-1?

Does the auto-calibration measure secondary colors now? If not i don't believe that it will ever give you somehow accurate colors.

Kev12 Publish time 1-12-2019 22:38:55

I can't do a chart, and I don't know about the secondary colours either, but I do know that my eyes see a more accurate red. Before, it was a crappy crimson colour, now it seems much more normal.

I'm going on the colour of lightning McQueen in Cars, its more or less the same shade as my Panasonic plasma, which is good enough for me.

I don't understand all this debate about reds.People read reviews and automatically think that the set struggles to show red.It doesn't.It is a very, very minor issue and I doubt anyone would spot it with the naked eye if it wasn't picked up on calibration software because you wouldn't be looking for it.The AUO Quantum Black panel is absolutely superb and I would easily take the minor issue of red over any of the other panels available for this set.I said before, the only problem I have with this set is the SBS is poor.Viewing angles I suppose could be a little better but they aren't bad for LCD.

Don't get caught up in the whole lack of red debate because it is a very minor issue.

Don't know what anyone else thinks but this looks red enough to me lol

Kev12 Publish time 1-12-2019 22:38:59

Looks orange...Ha ha!

When auto-calibration is running, is it measuringsecondary colors and 75% greyscale or just the primaries? Not sure how exactly auto-calibration works but you should prolly see that in the patterns used.

Anyway the new review will prolly tell soon enough.
Your camera prolly does automatically adjust the white-level. Therfore colors are way off.

Just the primary's I think. The colour calibration is over in seconds, the gamma takes about 5 minutes.
