AndyCR15 my two cents worth, I have had the ring since December and the ring pro since May. Do you have any other devices you can collect the door bell to? the reason I ask is that I currently have the pro my wife’s phone, 2 x chimes and ipad all ring as soon as the door bell is press my S6 rings straight away for some reason my iPhone has a 20 second delay. I formatted my iphone for other reasons and when I reinstalled the Ring app it seems to have sorted the delay out.

As YoungSvp has mentioned your delay might also be because of a Wifi issue, I know you said your WiFi AP is only a meters away i noticed from your video you live in a flat the stairwell walls are almost always solid concrete and if they are reinforced that would affect the wifi signal. I think its still worth rechecking as I have an Aluminium porch and in the end I have had to install a new WiFi access point just a foot away.

I also get wifi dropouts which are random sometimes after every few days and sometimes after a week. I have put a timer plug on which switches the AP off every night between 1am and 1.15am.

We need to remember these are first gen devices and as such they have lots of bugs issues that need to be tweaked. I’m renovating a new house so I was looking at a proper wired solution from Hikvision IP video door phone system solution | Product News

I don't think the phone is relevant at this point. I don't think I've complained about that yet? The doorbell itself doesn't ring, let alone the app.

I also very much doubt it's wifi. It uses 2.4ghz which goes through walls much better than 5ghz. I sometimes have issues in 5, but never on 2.4.

Just before we left for holiday I connected the doorbell to the old doorbell power and it still didn't work, but I think the old power might not be enough as the battery was still going down.

Power wise, how would you wire this doorbell up from scratch?

The original ring should work with your normal doorbell wires, the Ring Pro needs a transformer with extra power.

But if the originals are told old or something (as I said, mine wasnt charging) how would you wire from scratch?

You just need to run two core wire between your transformer and the doorbell
http://***********/z6qaguy or you can pick it up for your local DIY store. If your changing the wire you might as well change the transformer at the same time as well esspecally if its old.

Hi All,

I wanted to ask where you guys are getting the ring pro I can't see it listed for sale in the UK ?

Also this will be going in a new build which has a wired door bell fitted, is it case of just fitting pro power kit or should I ask for power to be sent directly to the doorbell ?

m11rphy I ordered mine from the states.

Have you got a link buddy ?

Interesting, it seems Ring have blocked UK access to the USA site so you can't view the Ring Pro anymore. Easy fix just use a VPN and I was then able to visit https://ring.com/pro without issue. They will ship to the UK but you are most likely going to get hit with VAT and a charge so factor this in.

Like many I got mine when on holiday - very pleased with it.

Keep in mind the Pro version is probably for the USA market so the pro power kit is not included in the box. I asked Ring for one and they sent it to me FOC which was nice of them - great customer service.
