Hi - it only uses 2.4 networks - are the ones your trying to connect to 2.4 ?

Also when setting up mine I tried to use my Redmi Note 3 - and it just wouldn't do it - it failed at the last hurdle - but when I went into the app I could see my device was actually connected fine.

Today I factory reset all my ring devices, doorbell, stick up cam and chime.

I did the set up using an old LG G3 - every device set up and connected first time without a problem.

Quick update on my notification problem with the Redmi Note 3 - I spent 30 mins on the phone to Ring today (calling them is much better than email - its a free call as well) - and the chap knew my Redmi phone - went through lots of suggestions to fix notifications and voila - the last one worked !!

So now its all working fine and dandy............I hope;-)

Just have to await my polished brass replacement to arrive for the original faulty bell I had and we should be good to go - I am contemplating ordering the solar panel for the stick up cam - does it need lots of sunlight or will average daylight suffice ?

** I had a couple of old android devices (galaxy s2 and cheap no name) - that I have charged up and put ring app on them and placed them through the house to act as "chimes" when doorbell is presses - much cheaper than buying more of the official chimes.

No, trying 2.4...but bizarrely just had another stab and it connected.

It still isnt working, but its connected.

I pressed the actual bell button while it was connecting and for some reason it picked up the network, but when i test, nothing shows on my devices. The bell sounds and the light goes around, but its not showing up.

Is there a UK number?

Thanks Dave!

So its now working, thanks Dave.

The guy just got me to add it again, it joined the network first time, then went to the proximity screen which it didn't do before. Then checked the alerts etc all good. I redid it again after the call and it worked again.

So just need to attach it to the door and get the proximities dialled in.

Glad it worked !!

My replacement doorbell seems to work better than the original faulty one - but the quality of the image is a lot worse than the original.

Bell in same place - same wifi - just a much worse picture - all blocky.

well i just ordered a pro... the original is just too wide.

my ring adventure keeps moving!

will put the original on the classifieds.

I have another replacement coming as they sent the wrong colour - if that doesn't work then i'm considering returning the bell and the chime - will keep stick up cam as its working flawlessly - only problem is I got doorbell from Amazon - so no problem returning that - but got chime from Ring themselves - so not too sure they will refund that as its working fine .

hearing you..i bought direct from ring UK website, which is why its on classifieds now.

not sure why pro isnt available, but ordered on US website and used 10% off code posted by other member (14PICOSAFE), so helps with import duty.

have amazon echo arriving next week also, what fun with that, hue and ring etc!!

Questions.. does anyone have the basic Ring connected to a mains power supply - like a plug socket.. i have a cat5 cable running to where the doorbell is so if i pick a pair and send it across the cat5 is there something on the other so i don't need to charge it...
