To my knowledge you can only connect the ring doorbell to a Wifi connection for the power supply the battery last for about 1 full year depending on usage otherwise I would recommend hard wiring the device. if you live in the USA would recommend using the coupon code 14picosafe not sure if it still works but saved me $25 (incase you have not purchased them yet)

If you're asking can it be connected direct to a 230v AC supply then a big no. It has to be fed via a transformer (8v doorbell transformers are widely available). It runs off a DC current, between 8VDC and 24VDC.

Ok thanks for that.. so if the other end feeds into one of these then where does the 8v doorbell transformer feed into?

The 8V transformer fits between the mains supply and the doorbell.
Just Google 'wiring a doorbell'. The ring unit replaces a standard doorbell push button.

has anyone picked one of these up from the states and setup fine in the UK?Currently doing an offer in the local Costco with the door bell and a years cloud and tempted to pick one up.

The item is exactly the same worldwide. I bought a US sourced one indirectly and had no issues with setup. I would check the T&Cs of the free cloud offer but can't really see it being a problem claiming it.

Thanks for the reply, i have emailed the support team to ask the question so will see what they will say.

I'd be interested in the chime, if you're listing it in the classifieds data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Hi

I'm awaiting a third replacement from RING - Chime and stick up cam are fine - this will be the third doorbell.
