When you put it that way... I may as well just buy another Titan! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

But seriously, I could of had two 780s with a 3GB buffer (which is plenty for 1440) for almost the same price as one titan, well, by that I mean only a few hundred extra of my hard earned pounds!

I've not found a game that taxes the Titan fully. The Witcher 2 can do a good job of pummelling it though, but it looks glorious!

Dont get me wrong if I was buying now then yes I would just get the 780 as the price gap doesn't correlate to the performance difference. They really need to reduce the price now to bring it in line.
I'm guessing with the new consoles being pc based we should see far more efficient use of the cards as well.

The new FX-9590 5GHz pre-orders start out at nearly $900

Very true, im not unhappy with it at all, it's just I want more power //static.avforums.com/styles/avf/smilies/facepalm.gif so I feel stuck a bit, I can't be bothered to try and sell it and have to still spend 400 to sli 780s, so means spending an astronomical amount again.

Pricier than I thought it'd be, here anyway, if we got straight exchange rate prices I'd seriously consider it over thr Intel enthusiast chip.

It's a 220W TDP part with a crazy price tag. IB-E all the way.

Chox1988 Publish time 27-11-2019 04:11:20

220w bloody hell :O, that's going to take some cooling

TheNameIsJambo Publish time 27-11-2019 04:11:21

At least it negates the need for gas central heating!

I just can't wait to see the Ivy-E benches vs the new AMD chip. I wonder who wipes the floor with who!

When damn it!!!

I've not had an issue with either heat or noise and my PC is currently in the living room. Most games when running SLi use roughly between 30-50% of each GPU (max), so the heat of each card never reaches that high anyway.Of course there are one or two titles that tax them (Crysis 3 being the game that gives the cards the biggest workout).

A 1-1 fan setting is pretty aggressive tbh, I have a custom fan setting but it's an exponential curve, nothing linear, I find that way the fans only ramp up to a more intrusive volume when really taxed by one or two titles.

Agree with you regarding the pricing though, it needs to come down to be more in line with the 780.I suppose it would be expected that the Titan should only be 10% more expensive than the 780 (equating to the approximate difference in performance at stock) however the extra memory will always keep it priced that bit higher regardless.

I'm guessing you're running at either 1440p or 1600p?
