hi just bought a large plug from b&q and fitted it and all is good
i also cut away all the molding on the belkin plug and it is indeed incorrectly wired and the shielding is connected to the earth pin

So can anyone confirm that Ballicom/Belkin have pulled these 250units due to the possibility of electrical endangerment ?

I think it's clear the units have been pulled, but I doubt if anyone will admit to the real reason!
It will be interesting to see if Belkin/Ballicom do a total recall of all units sold to be on the safe side. Now that would be telling!

I emailed Ballicom and Belkin over the weekend.
Ballicom have replied offering to collect the unit and give me a full refund if I wish.
Nothing from Belkin as yet.

Ballicom were replying to my emails vitually instantaneously, last week, I was very impressed, and likewise they were very quick to offer to collect and refund but I would rather like to have the units working rather than have a refund so we have left the offer on table whilst I wait for a reposnse from Belkin.
Belkin should be able to supply checked working replacements. After all from the above posts we know not all units are faulty.
