Sorry Abbeygoo, I didn't have my watch with me so guessed at the function.
Just checked and Sleaver is correct. You've probably got the auto lap set to every km or mile. I turned mine off as it was messing up my interval training, once one of the girls at the running club showed me how to!

Think I've got it now .... will check on the next run.

Physio tomorrow as getting a lot of pain on the top of my foot (under the laces) not sure what the problem is.

Are you sure! Watches can work out the average for the current lap but not an overall average! It's just math or am I missing something?

Sorry for jumping in. It's just that I was reading how people use their Garmin's in races last night and it was talked about a lot.

I'm mulling doing a marathon next year. The obvious one is London, but I don't know if i'd be able to raise anywhere near the £1.5kthat charities want you to, and I've read stories about runners being personally liable for making up the shortfall! That kind of thing really puts me off.

The easiest in terms of logistics would be Manchester, Blackpool or Fleetwood. Anyone have any thoughts on these?

Manchester is pretty flat. Last year the weather and organisation were both atrocious though!

I'm doing London.

Manchester has had some grim reports - the weather was truly awful though and saw the numbers participating really suffer.

Blackpool is decent enough - I did the half marathon last year and the runners doing the marathon do the same course but twice, obviously. Start at Blackpool FC, then up and down the sea front - decent course, good for accomodation and things to do afterwards and also not too far away.

Not quite at 5k yet but cracked 2 miles without stopping at the weekend which I was pleased with.

I've been doing couch to 10k for a while but it's been a bit stop/start to say the least - I've had to pull my finger out lately though as I signed up to do a 17km slog up and down helvellyn next weekend in the Lake District (gulp!)

2 laps of a course sounds like hell! Getting to 13 miles and realizing you have to do it all again...

What event is this? That sounds like it would be a decent run.
