The Running Thread Part II
Carrying on from part I here: http://www.avforums.com/forums/health-fitness/1514562-running-thread-34.html#post17639768 two days after the GNR and my legs are still so stiff that I can't walk properly.Going to take a week off, two if my shin still aches then focus on improving my 5k pb (29.03)
Is it best to follow a training program to do this or shall I just run 3-4 times a week and see if it comes down? What time did you do the GNR in ODP? Completed the GNR (my first half marathon) in 1:54:10
Loved it - the atmosphere was awesome data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 2:31:42 Not the fastest time, and a tiny bit over my target time but I'm happy with it. Well done to all that completed the GNR
continuing with couch to 5k done my 2nd 25min run. completed 4.4k at 6.03 min/km
Also just registered for the Bupa Great Manchester run next may You're doing awesome data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
I'm going to sign up for the GMR aswell, I did it in 1:07:58 (I think) this year and I am aiming to knock 15 minutes off that time before then. A reasonable target I think/hope data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Congratulations to both of you. ODP - You may not think it's the fastest time but you was still going faster than the person sat on the couch with their feet up data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
I've got my first half on the 7th so that should be good!
You doing pretty well at this aren't you data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 In a week or two I reckon you will hit the 5k! Superb effort ODB.Good to see you sticking at the running and getting around a 13 mile course!Well done to everyone for completing the GNR, something I need to sign up for next year I think.
I'm at the stage now where my leg is better (I can walk) but I know it's silly to do any running just yet so must resist the urge! Cheers. I've only been running for 4 months after a 20 year break. Managed 200 miles so far.
