Does anyone NOT like bacon?
Really? Like for real? Aside from those with religious obligations that prevent them from experiencing the joys of a bacon sandwich how do the rest of y'all feel about the humble pig and the myriad of food products it gifts us with? Bacon is one of the finest foods known to man. Especially between two slices of bread with some brown sauce! Red for bacon, brown for sausage.Or bacon and beetroot sandwich to take it to the next level! Bacon is awesome! I can imagine quite a lot will not like bacon.
Personally I love it, but some are not allowed to eat it. That's a personal choice though. Daft choice imo. Bacon is one of my five a day. People do not eat bacon for religious reasons. But they still may like the taste Red? On bacon?! Get out.
Also love bacon but hate that cheap pink stuff that sheds about pint of water during cooking. Is that like a paradox or something? "For there is naught as sweet as forbidden swine" quoth the bard.
Anyway, the thread isn't about those who are exempting themselves from porcine pleasure for reasons of scripture as that hog has been skinned many a time, its about two categories of people:
1) People who enjoy bacon.
2) People who are free to dine on swine and yet choose not to. Love bacon but three circumstances, mostly in hotels, where I will pass
(1) Self Service breakfast in some English hotels when the bacon is dumped in a tray and the fat is undercooked and white
(2) Self Service breakfast in some American and European hotels that serve the overcooked hard (not crispy just tough) and curled up streaky bacon rashers
(3) Where you get the little white bones in bacon rashers - turns me right off
Cheers,
Nigel
