We call it a bacon butty although I don't think butty is a regional name, quite common?...buttered bread, bacon and definitely brown sauce if I'm adding stuff, and/or some cheese.

I do bacon on the charcoal BBQ, my son absolutely loves it. And any kind of sauce on bacon is blasphemy, why would you want to ruin its porky goodness.
2 bacon butties or buns, 1 with Heinz tomato sauce, one with HP sauce, both cut in half and alternate eating them brown red brown red

100% this. I love a bacon sarnie, unsmoked back bacon. We have wholemeal bread usually, but I occasionally have a "treat" and have white. With butter, obviously.
That's it - keep it simple..
