Yep it's the first time I've managed 105x5x5, paused reps are a killer but the bottom part of my bench is the weakest so that's what needs focusing on. I don't go mega heavy on any isolation exercise, that's not the point of them and I've seen too many people get injured doing heavy flyes. Don't need a detached pec or banjaxed AC joint.

There's nothing impressive watching me do bodyweight stuff, it gets done because it has to be done, dips are awesome for pressing assistance I regularly see guys 130kgdoing them weighted. I've started doing pull ups every time I pass my pull up bar at home it does wonders for me, it all helps and bodyweight stuff is easy to recover from.

Events day tomorrow really looking forward to it as I'm fresh going into it for the first time!data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Superb events session today, both of pushed each other beyond what we thought and Mrs C did a 60m farmers walk carrying 35kg in each hand, then flipped a 220kg tyre which is over three times her bodyweight!

Had a call out so will update the details later, thee mig be some videos as I'm sure I saw a couple of gopros laying around the gym!

As above today's events session was really good, yoke felt good and my feet were really fast. In the timed tyre flip I went off like a rocket and did 10 flips in under 30 second, this burned me out badly though and the rest were a lot slower! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Yoke - 50 x 60m, 50 x 60m, 130 x 60m, 190 max distance in 70secs 80m, 190 x 30m, 190 x 30m
Farmers - 65 x 60m, 85 x 60m, 85 x 60m, 85 x 30m
Tyre flips 220kg tyre - x 10, max flips in 70secs 20/21

Okay I just read Mrs C flipped a 220kg tyre.

Forget this blog, where's hers? Lol

Do you use farmers bars. Are those weights per hand?!

It might have been filmed I'm not sure, I was too busy strategical placing my leg to stop it falling back on her! My training buddies girlfriend will manage 16 in 70 seconds, she's a 60kg pink gym gear wearing power house! The farmers is using proper implements and those weights are each hand.

looks impressive.
i should really start doing dips and pull ups. i can literally do 2 pull ups haha.

I find I can progress really quickly just by doing as many as I can as often as possible, get a pull up bar somewhere at home and do some every time you pass it.

yeah, been a while since I did pullups - but managed to do 5x5 with knuckles facing backwards...but cqan hardly do any...as charlts says - practice...even if it's 5x1 sets... data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Trained with wifey tonight so it was more a training on how to spot squats. I didn't get chance for my afternoon feed until I was driving home which didn't help things. Believe it or not on international chest day when we arrived at the gym half of the benches were free but all 8 squat racks were in use!! When we got a free one I managed to squat lower and faster than I ever have so that was all good!

Squats - bar x 20, x 20, x20, 80 x 15, 120 x 10, 120 x 10, 120 x 10
Trap bar dead - 120 x 10, 120 x 10, 120 x 10
Box lunges - x 10, x 10, x 10, x 10

Had a really long stretching/mobility session.

Today was interesting, I got to try the new supplement I bought as a meal replacement to make up for the lack of time to eat, so at 4 I had a Hurricane shake and a protein cookie. Felt so much better after that lot, had a really good session and have a new training buddy to join us for legs day who's a 24st man mountain, which made wifey happy as she's not totally comfortable spotting me when things get heavy.

Deadlift 60x15, 100x15, 160x10, 160x10, 160x10
Axle Row 75x10, 75x10, 75x13
Plate loaded lat pull down 40x10, 80x10, 80x10
Cable bicep curl 40x15, 45x15, 45x15
Single arm squatting cable row 45x10, 45x10, 45x10

The squatting cable rows are something wifey did with her PT, you're sat in the hole of a squat doing rows which is harder than it sounds! Love the new plate loads lat machine, it's got perfect angles angles I can see some massive backs coming out of the gym this year!
