The empire on which the sun never sets.

...Because God didn't trust the British in the dark.

It's the reality TV Autocracy replacing democracy.

Clinton won the popular vote, but lost out in the electoral college. There have been arguments in the US about reforming the electoral college for donkeys years now. It's way too complex and headache inducing to go into.

Because usually in a US Presidential Election, the candidate who wins carries the popular vote and the Electoral College. Then you have elections like this one, where one candidate wins the popular vote and the other wins the Electoral College and thus the Whitehouse. Which creates anger, especially in the US given how polarised it's become.

Not properly reflecting the majority of voters wishes in an election due to a rigged system is subverting democracy. Also fuels apathy, which further erodes participation in democracy.

Of course when UKIP got 4 Million votes and one MP there was a similar outrage. They were not lining the streets when Gore lost to Bush.

But the rules are the rules. You set them before the contest, you don't try and change them afterwards.

I see "Death to America" will be number one on the Tehran top 40 again this week....

"As of today, we are officially putting Iran on notice,” said Michael T. Flynn, the national security adviser, speaking in the White House briefing room. He said Iran’s test was the latest in a series of provocative actions that had destabilized the region and violated United Nations resolutions."

Crap, after spanking William Hill over the Brexit result I had a fiver on the ensuing war in Europe being the next conflict. Don't let war in the Middle East kick off first.
