I really wouldn't worry about the Greeks... France has the opportunity to kill the EU dream far far earlier, will be a very interesting weekend..

Am I right in saying the French elections are done on some sort of rounds system?

Le Pen has the chance if she wins and if she can persuade the French that a Frexit is a good idea. She'll probably make it into the second round, but some polls have her being beaten by either of the other candidates. As for Greece's debt problems ? That will likely overtake the French Presidential election, as decisions have to be made next month. The Markets will act accordingly if no deal is reached, the IMF is currently deciding if it's going to take part in the next bailout. Seems to think Greece has no chance of paying off it's debts without substantial debt relief from the Eurozone. There is only so much more austerity the Greeks can carry out, before it puts the final nail into the Greek Economy.

It's a run off election i.e. if in the first round of voting no candidate gets above 50% of the vote a further round of voting then takes place.

Well the fella ( although I disagree with all his polices ) has delivered so far on his mandate for POTUS . He gave it straight and ( unlike most all politicians ) is going through on that promise. I can't fault him for that .

He said it straight , the American public liked that and voted for him. Its done , they had the vote and the choice. It's done , make a deal with the devil and reap the rewards , you had the choice Murica so now live with it.

Did Obama or previous presidents hold up the EOs after signing them?I don't remember that being a thing. He genuinely looks like a 5 year old showing his mum his first bit of colouring in that stayed in the lines.

No I don't believe his predecessors turned every EO signing into a Runnymede moment

Past Presidents reserved this sort of showmanship for the big items, signature policies becoming law, signing peace deals and the like. Not issuing EO's every 5 minutes and going "Hey look at my awesome power that I can exercise using only a pen. I'm a big strongman now like Mr Putin".
