Yes but if you appear drunk it is up to the drivers discretion and who wants a drunk in the back of the car that's fair enough in my book anyways

Actually no it shouldn’t be. Vulnerable people should actually get priority.

More than 500,000 signed the petition now. Fastest growing petition this year. Heck not even the London remain protests could get that many people to sign up iirc.

Both the Mayor and TfL keep talking in generics. In my opinion they should share the rules that have been broken to get the public behind them and stop talking genetically.

If Uber has broken measurable rules than they should be very clear about those. I’m sure the public will back them and demand that Uber sort themselves out. But for now they seem to shy away from that.

Fascinating to see how this develops. Shame about 40,000 TfL licensed drivers are caught in the middle. I wonder how they will able to pay their mortgages, car hire rents, food for their children etc.

The percentages are still too high... I wouldn't be happy if anyone in my family was one of that statistic.

The data in the link was obtained from the Police under the freedom of data, so this isn't made up.

I wouldn't even go I to the original post was directed at the Labour party which is a complete joke.

The bottom line is that this model of service is new, so it is going to take a while for regulation to catch up.

The issues with Uber are not just with London, it has to be said there have been a lot of issues around the world.

And let's face it, the issues here are also not just with taxis and Uber, the whole gig economy is constantly on the newspapers for one reason or another.

Which is all great but has no relevance to what is happening here. It is everyone’s free will to work for who they want. Being a freelancer is nothing new to the Taxi business either.

I think the gig economy is great. Provides lots of freedoms as to when and how you want to work. And at the same time there are the more traditional opportunities as well. TAke your pick and choose what suits you. But please don’t make everyone the same.
