Black cab drivers have been practising it for ages.....data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Nearly everyone in the country practises it....

From what I can gather the OP is only interested in Referendum-related democracy circa 2016. All other kinds are liberal left-wing whingeing.

Very likely true.

Uber will adhere to requirements of TFL in the end. Uber is only worried about the bottom line; they will just have to put with a little less profit. In the meantime probably let similar providers into the market and make it more competitive, and look what's happened to share price of 'just eat’, because this potential loss of licence for Uber, winners and losers, after all competition is supposedly a universal good for improving consumer experience, so TFL with the support of the Mayor are being responsible state mechanisms.

Now now Rusty old chap, you will get the thread closed for being insulting and argumentative data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I think you've misunderstood my post. Neither insulting nor argumentative. Unless you've misunderstood it.

Jezza99 Publish time 26-11-2019 01:39:48

I've understood that it's nothing to do with the thread topic, which is Uber losing it's licence to operate in London. Do you have anything constructive to add to this debate, or are you just here to troll?

rancidpunk Publish time 26-11-2019 01:39:48

So back on topic then, Uber haha.
Although they'll no doubt continue their destructive business model once eventually conforming to the regulations every other cab company is expected to.

Bl4ckGryph0n Publish time 26-11-2019 01:39:49

So please help me understand, which regulations have they actually broken?

Funnily enough I know how it works. You are going to be rechecked in the future as well. If you want the job enough now, you will still want the job in the future as well.

Are you saying you'd want no background checks? Why be critical of them? Of course it isn't performed with the benefit of a time machine.

It's also only going to be as good as what actually went to court. I know of social workers given regular checks and it would keep coming up that they stole a tin of beans years ago, however, as they were getting an enhanced check every past conviction would keep coming up.
You approve of that as well...
