In translation, like someone on FB said: "The mean EU is preparing for that thing I campaigned for and we said we would do, make them stop it, Mummy" - David Davis

Is DD really the best "we" could come up with?

That's absolutely right what you posted there, we all know there's no cry baby quite like a simpering Brexiteer. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

For comedy value he would be hard to top. Maybe Boris?

Wut? The EU has been clear from the start that the UK would be out on 31 March 2019. If the UK requests any transition deal beyond that, the condition is that EU law continues to apply during that time. 31 December 2020 is mentioned as the end date.

The rest is just the UK echo chamber.......

Agreed, its the first time I've seen anything where the EU actually acknowledges that they need to adjust their budgets.

It's the first time it's been made explicitly clear by Juncker in public. I would guess Germany will have been pressing other EU memberstates to step up their funding once we've gone. Otherwise it'll be the Germans who will have to shoulder the funding gap.

I thought this was interesting, no point passing any comment on it as I expect it will either go nowhere or end up in court - Brexit bill may have broken international environment law, says UN

And a leaked letter from David Davis to the PM, complaining about the EU making plans for a No Brexit Deal (it shouldn't come as a massive surprise that the EU would be planning for a No Brexit deal, amongst the possible outcomes) - Jim Pickard on Twitter

Only because you stick to reading the UK press. (I am always surprised by the quality of the Irish coverage, compared to that from the UK.) The responsible Commissioner, Oettinger, put the question to the Member States already in July. At this stage I would expect heated but discreet negotiations behind closed doors. it is a budget negotiation, after all....

or Rees Smug (© you) ... TM should have given him a job yesterday, so we can all actually see what the filibustering cult is capable of

Mogg ? He'd likely make a tit of himself, though tbh I think he's being reserved as the stalking horse candidate to topple May.

Wouldn't necessarily stop the bill from gaining Royal Assent but it would likely cause a devolution crisis, Westminster can only act on matters that effect Scotland directly with consent from the Scottish Parliament - Holyrood’s Finance and Constitution Committee will not recommend consent to the EU Withdrawal Bill in its current form - News & Parliament TV :                                  Scottish Parliament

He could have been an even more inappropriate choice for the vice chair of women. Still a slim chance of some insignificant role if there's further changes after today.
