I remember having a Beige British Visitor's Passport the first time I went to Europe in the 60's, it was a 3 sided card.

Yeah that was issued 6 months earlier in March .... now about to renew for 2018-28, so it will still be burgundy

It's not about the colour. It's that the EU got its name on a UK document. It was the first indication of the loss of sovereignty.

I've not seen anyone angry over it though. Most remainers are completely apathetic about the whole thing. Or taking the mick that this is being hailed as a victory.

The Guardian article is petulant in tone and the facts have been tailored to meet the anti-Brexit agenda.
The 1920 blue British passport came out of an international agreement on a standard format for passports worldwide. The personal details were written by hand into the proforma passport, the same as in all the passports for other countries who signed the agreement, including the UK - it was an agreed format and not imposed on us as the Guardian article states.
Following the agreement a new government department was formed in 1920 to handle the issue of blue British passports.

I think you might have misunderstood. The writing on the wall applies to the approaching Brexit and it's threat of change is causing anger. The re-introduction of blue UK passports news is a trigger for the anger and frustration regarding Brexit.
The blue passport itself is not an important issue, but is the trigger which has set some of the ardent remainers off. Not that it takes much to cause the outpourings of grief.

Not at all, I'm just seeing no evidence of a mass of angry remainers. Even Open Britain and 48 and Beyond haven't bothered posting anything about it, and they're the first to whip up anti-brexit sentiments. It is literally a non event to almost everyone from anything I've seen thus far.

Have a look on Twitter, seems to be nothing but a mass of angry Remainers.

I don't do twitter, even worse than facebook for the vocal extremes of any discussion.
Looking at the trends for the blue passport though, I'm seeing lots of mickey taking, lots of sarcasm, a fair bit of general anti brexit talk, but almost no anger at the passport changing at all.

Are they threatening civil disobedience or condoning attacking elected representatives?
