No external sensors, looks more Windows MR than Steam VR.

Doesn't look very wide.

It’s very similar to WMR but it can also plug into a compatible Mobile phone, Laptop, Console or third party device.

Flip up headset looks good.
That's all I've got on the positives though.

The positive is Cosmos has no onboard compute. Unlike Quest which is stuck with its 835 processor. Cosmos has no restrictions. It’s as good as your PC or your Laptop or your Mobile which means I only need one HMD for all devices.

I really hope Samsung support the HTC platform.

Well it looks like HTC might go ahead with this, but at what price? I think they need to be aiming for £299.00 - £350.00 to even be relevant. but I think it may be to late for them at this stage.

My money would be on $599 because this is HTC we're talking about here. The company has been run by idiots for the last 10 years or so unfortunately.

I wasn't expecting it to launch until next year, if they do go for Q3 this year that's three PC VR headsets in three years which is just plain crazy.

christ i didnt realise it at the time but that cosmos looks so much like the RiftS but with rift CV1 headphones both the hmd and the controllers. convergent evolution i guess... as we go forwards they each pick the "good bits" of other designs i suppose.

the evolution of games controllers is a great example of this. Isnt the Cosmos a Qualcomm reference design like the RiftS and Lenovo?

The problem is the software.

Are HTC Going to devote as much time to encouraging developers to port their games as Oculus?

I hope they do. I'm definitely interested in this. The fact they're using the highest resolution screens available is fantastic but the lack of clear direction on this product is weird,
