Two oldish games have impressed me the most in recent times.
Total War: Warhammer - I've been a pretty big fan of the Total War series for a long time. Was unsure how a Warhammer version would go since it was such a drastically different concept compared to the previous editions. But it was amazing! Each race played so differently and there was such an impressive range of different and fun units. I loved all the events that happened in the campaign. Also, a big bonus was how smoothly it ran on my not so amazing PC.
Don't Starve Together - I had heard good things about this but I didn't feel the urge to give it a go until recently. Being a survival game, I expected a fun but short lasting game, with a lack of depth and simply being bored of dying and having to start ALL over again, being the main drawbacks. What I found, was an extremely fun and polished game which had an insane amount of depth. Hugely different randomised maps meant new tactics in each game. Every time I died, I was eager to jump back into a new game and use the new found experience and knowledge to survive that bit longer. I completely lost track of time playing this. |
