If I don't eat every 2 or 3 hours then I feel faint so I doubt fasting is for me

I'm not promoting fasting for weight loss though ....

The weight loss was one thing ....that's over now , I've been the same desired weight for over 4 months .

The fasting completely changes the way you live and feel .

It keeps your insulin levels level all day - perfect .

It's something that you ( not you as such ) have to try and experience .

Logic says that as I don't eat breakfast or at dinner ( noon ) I SHOULD really feel tired / hungry , lethargic , mood swings maybe a headache etc etc ... and yet the truth is the EXACT POLAR OPPOSITE .

Or is it that by cutting out high-calorie foods like bread and sugar you've kept the weight off? At it's most basic, one loses weight by eating more healthily and moving more. You keep it off by keeping that going.

That's because your body is used to you feeding it on quick burning carbs that need replacing every couple of hours or sooner.

It takes around 3 to 4 mornings for your body to LEARN that it won't be getting breakfast , you have tummy rumbles at worst . After a few days the body quickly adapts .

It's only like a non runner training for a charity fun run or something ...they have to take things slowly ...

Come to work with me and see how long you last without food. I don't stop all day long.

As I say the weight issue is a red herring in this matter tbh

Fact is the fasting means your body burns the fuel very efficiently / effectively throughout the whole day - keeping your insulin at the optimal level .

I have high energy all day , I'm in good spirits all day , no mood swings , headaches are a thing of the past . Sleep better there are simply no negatives and endless positives to fasting .

Remember it's not a new fad .... it's been around since the dawn of time .

Same . I work with autistic teenagers every day .

This works when I spend the weekend in the garden maybe 6 or 7 hours each day - non- stop apart from a few cups of coffee

I've not had a bite to eat since 8pm last night, will be having lunch about 1pm, I'm not a fan of breakfast, pretty much normal for me to go that length of time. In fact yesterday I skipped lunch as I was busy at work so in a 24 hr  period (between meals 8pm Tues and 8pm Wed) I only had 1 apple.

No.  No.  No.  Carbs and high sugar foods (since carbs are effectively sugar) give your body a boost after eating (since sugar = energy) and then your body goes into a sugar low and feels tired.  It is NOTHING about fasting, it is about the cutting out of sugary foods and replacing them with natural sugars from fruit and more protein that is giving you the energy.  Likewise, your Insulin levels are being kept in check by the reduction of carb and sugars, NOT because you are fasting.

edit - and people "back in the day" did not fast because they wanted to be healthy, it was because they didn't have a choice
