Perhaps a poll only polls the proposal as it stands. Think that makes sense! But no-one can predict whether it will fly or crash. Is there any real risk to giving it a go?
But asking your friends is much better. We all get to know each other on here and that may translate to other boards. That is not to lose sight of the potential for new blood.
Come on Dony lets back off from that one. How many other boards on here are related to 'Gadgets' as you say and 'AV' as the title of the site suggests.........

If Stuart wants to attract new visitors here he'd be better off re-opening the Gentlemen's section.
The catalyst for my considering my reasons for staying was that I caused offence in a thread and it troubled me. I hadn't anticipated the hostility. It caused me to reconsider why I was here at all. Why should I care. I did realise I was far too close to this and it was taking over my life to some extent. I can fill hours quite easily and mask the fact that I should be finding work as I'm self-employed.
That is the best I can explain it as I'm not even sure myself why.
Anyway to address your point about the Gentleman's section - is that what you want? You should start a poll.
