I'ts a difficult one to be honest max,
a dedicated sub forum can be great for a subject as long as the subject appeals to more than just a hard core few and on its own merrits draw the punters in, but the flip side is it can kill off a subject as well, where some thing like general chat will keep the passing trade looking in, take the Barbecue thread there are only a few hard core posters really but for instance i have a gander in it every now and again where as i probably wouldn't if it was in a dedicated food forum as i would only probably look in there if i was really bored and had read all the other forums that i have an interest in first. |
