It is. I'm saying that in like for like comparisons ( public / private - teachers / doctors) there would appear to be little or no difference in pensions, but pay and or conditions are often slightly better in the private sector.
We can take one sector as a whole against the other, but there are so many variables it's a little pointless.
Well paid private sector workers tend to have a chip on their shoulders about the public sector.
Given the shortage of (some) public sector workers, especially nurses and teachers, it would appear the government should be looking at improving our pensions, pay and conditions, not worsening them further, regardless of what's happening in unrelated private sectors. |
