That is one factor for sure, far right politics popularity is on the increase. As already mentioned, the far left is another factor.

So presumably antisemitism rests only with far-out political views and nothing else?

(Of course, bearing in mind politics and religion go hand-in-hand)

I was asking you to discuss the thread topic, rather than semantics about what the term means.  Even your statement that the "accepted term" is ridiculous is debatable and not what the OP intended to be discussed.

"Why does the west have an increasing issue with Jew hatred" if it makes you feel more comfortable.

No, he was questioning the definition of anti semitism. That is what my response was aimed at, as afterall that is the context of this thread.

Thank you for the clarification, I must admit that I was truly surprised seeing the comments from you. I’m happy to call it a big misunderstanding.

Very true and they influence the Israeli government to their ends.

I think it rests with all extremes. At the extreme ends the two (right and left) always meet. The soft core definition as introduced early is in my opinion much more left leaning.

Having worked quite a bit out of Poland, nationalism is rife there. Been stuck in huge demonstrations twice and it is pretty scary. It is a hugely complicated issue as to why it is so visible and present. I’ve found it really hard to understand when having some drinks and discussing it. I definitely never got to the bottom of it.

Well anti semitism has been around a lot longer than Israel!
Really don't see the connection. There are plenty of countries around the world which we disagree with, but we don't hold their citizens to account or hold racist views towards them.

I don't follow much in the way of politics overseas to the same level as UK politics.  Is this just your own opinion or is there any evidence to back this up, with the exception of the British Labour party (the assertion that the soft core definition is much more left leaning)?

I take it you mean more like hard core anti-semitism?
