I agree with what a lot of what you say Sonic but I really don't recall anyone bringing up the NI issue?
Also, this hard/soft Brexit was never discussed, leaving meant leaving.

How much information are you given on the best course for running the NHS? How clued up are you on geopolitics and nuclear defence?
Fine. Then the referendum in the 70s is not applicable. Neither was any other connected with the EU. Amongst other things in means the Lisbon treaty wouldn't have happened.

So there should have been no devolution? Scotland can never be allowed to leave the UK?
How can you have clear information for something that's not happened? The information given was the best available. What about all the personal experiences of those not happy with EU membership? Personal. Experiences.

One reason why everyone has a vote is it means everyone matters and everyone has a say and everyone has to be considered.

If there was more referenda then far more effort would be put in to the effects of decisions on the ordinary people.

We need more referenda not less. "We the people" not "They the people."

Still have it your way. We leave and then no more referenda on it.

Everyone in the UK had a vote. That includes those in NI. It's only the EU that considers it a major issue. I've not seen those in Ireland saying they want a border.
Soft Brexit seems to be something invented by those upset they lost and trying to hang onto the EU. The vote was to leave. That means leaving. Not part leaving.

I think we needed far more propaganda on how wonderful the EU is and why we can never leave. Report to your re-education camp comrade.

Immediately after the Brexit vote I saw a couple of posts on social media.

One was someone wondering whether these people who voted to leave should even be allowed to vote.

A second was someone who had property in Spain and people who voted to leave were selfish as they never considered him. Yep they were selfish.

Me neither...
Is it more of a Republic of Ireland issue than NI,,i don't know

In June Joachim Pfeiffer, the economy spokesman for German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democrats, warned that if there is no deal Ireland will be forced to have the “hardest border in Europe ... a border like we have a border with Ukraine or Belarus”.

Where did I say that?

I'm calling out the rhetoric that the border will be like that with Ukraine.
