I haven't opened the link, but am pretty sure I have already read that content.

It's stories like this that are crushing, the drivers are lured in and only realise their mistake when the pounds/dollars fail to roll in, many by that time have hocked themselves up with large loans for a car and so it's too late to back out.

The cycle of depravation is strong here.

But never mind, Mr and Mrs middle class can get a cheap ride home.

If there are 40k Uber drivers in London, and 32 sex attacks, that's about 0.08% of the population.

In 2016 there were 103k sex attacks in England and Wales. With a population of 56m, that equates to 0.18% of the population.

I.e. Uber drivers are less likely to commit a sexual assault than the general population.*

*Using the same basis of 1 offence being from 1 offender for both sets of figures

Firstly one sex attack is one too many!

Secondly I am not sure how you arrive at your figures?

What populous do you have for London?

My figures are in my post.

The population of DRIVERS, not the population of London. 32 attacks between them mean that 0.08% of the driver population is a sex attacker.

And not sure what relevance one attack too many is. Have I defended sex attackers?

The worrying statistic is these are supposedly checked and cleared drivers licensed to move drunk, frail, unaccompanied minors around.

They should be 100% trustworthy, but these figures sadly suggest otherwise.

I never suggested you had defended sex attackers, I simply made a statement that is valid.

It's impossible to have 100% trustworthy. But they are better than the general public going by these figures.

Are the general public licensed to transport people for hire and reward?

There have been three London taxi drivers accused and convicted of sexual assaults - David Perry, John Warboys and Frank Welton in a 250 year history of licensed hackney carriage drivers, a point to note is that in Frank Welton case the lady later admitted she was in a relashionship with him but was too scared to tell her boyfriend hence the allegation of rape

This is not perfect but putting that into perspective there have been scores of convicted PH rapists, this is the latest:-

Minicab rapist who plied student with drink and drugs jailed

David Perrys assaults were in Jan 2013 and May 2014.

Hope that helps.

Not really as you have already been caught out telling porkies once on this thread.

Got any more accurate sources?
