It's all about the status quo, businesses making money and employees that are happy with there wage packets. We all would love more, working folks contribute to the system so those that can't and also for our health service.

Now, lets say, I am on a minimum wage and Labour double it. Now my employer will need to find that money from somewhere. He can pay me more and take a cut in the profits or close up shop and move.
Employment is always a fine balance. We all live within our means in what we earn.......

But Labour will not pay you double they will pay you an extra £1.79 an hour.
The same was said when labour introduced the minimum wage.
It was massively opposed by the Tories and used the same analogy that you are doing now.
Turns out it was a good thing.
As for tax if you earn £80,100 per year you will pay an extra £5 a year in income tax.
Earn 100k a year and your paying an extra 1k per year in tax.

Labour economics are always scary. Minimum wage was worked well and now with the Living wage growing momentum esp with well known companies (esp those based mostly online)

I don't earn anywhere near that so I am not worried but if I was earning over 100k, would I be concerned about paying £1k extra... not really but the majority would.

Something we agree on who would of thought.
If you were earning 100k a year and not bothered about paying an extra grand a year in tax why go make a big song and dance about paying more tax under a labour government.

Labour economics this time have real purpose IMHO we will just have to see.

Given the upcoming election is this now the shortest period ever between a Queen's speech and dissolution of Parliament?

You know, the Queens Speech which it was so important to have that it required the unlawful prorogation of Parliament to achieve. Is the Queen going to be happy to have to come back and do it all over again after the election?

In traditional Labour areas, it's going to be a struggle for voters who want Brexit to vote Tory. The Brexit Party might be their only option, so they don't get their hands dirty.

I'm not so sure that the Tories will get a majority, despite their head start in the polls right now. I can see a Lib Dem/Labour coalition - God help us. Jo Swinson and Jezza. Dumb and Dumber.

Is it too late for a Conservative/TBP pact?
