New Peugeot 3008 - an impressive car

I've got a GTLine 3008 in Sunset Copper with massage seats and electric tailgate as options.

Local dealer is excellent for service (I even get free coffee and cake when I go in); I've had 2 'safety recalls' implemented, and no other issues of note.

Mine will be 2 years old in September.

My father in law has a Golf R-Line - has been beset with numerous issues: speakers not working, fuel filler cap not opening, radio loses presets, 'safety brake' deploys for no apparent reason (apart from it knows the father-in-law is driving).

You still get 'bad uns' with generally good brands, though some do seem to be on a downward trajectory.

Thanks to all for the replies, however I agree with the above statement. I currently drive a Qashqai which had rave reviews and it has been one of the worst vehicles I have had.

It rattles like mad, the engine is noisy and I have had various issues over the 2 and a half years I have had it yet no matter how many times it has been back to the dealer it comes back the same.

It is a bit of a concern with the 2 year warranty though (the dealership didn't say anything about that), it doesn't instil much confidence if the manufacturer isn't prepared to give a proper warranty (especially when Kia give 7 years)!

Maybe I need to go back to the drawing board.

Just checked again on the Peugeot site and it states 3 year 60k warranty but nothing about the third year being provided by the dealer? It also states the warranty is transferable if you sell it within three years, something I don't think the dealership would offer if they are looking after the third year.

I think what that means is that it’s 3 years (maybe as required by law?) however the wording that says unlimited mileage in first 2 years and 60k in 3rd year seems to imply that there’s a change in warranty somehow.

Otherwise it would just simply say “3 year 60,000 mile warranty” like other companies do.

I’m not trying to put you off, it was just something that out me off personally and if the brand doesn’t have enough faith to give 3 years themselves then I’m not interested.

Personally if “cheaper” brands like KIA and Hyundai can offer 7 or 5 years then the fact that “premium” brands offer 3 years is an absolute joke.

My other half had the Juke DIG-T
Starter motor and battery failed at 24 months (around 14k miles). This is with the stop start system. Took 2 weeks to get a new part and they lumped her with a micra as a courtesy car

No, I appreciate your input and wouldnt have been aware of the warranty issues. I just read the blurb as being a three year limited warranty mileage (60k for three years overall unless commercial) which, like you say, compared to others like Kia and Hyundai is very poor.

I will check with the dealership to clarify.
